Race statuses explained

Learn what each race status means in VPR, including Open, Pending, Live, and Ended.

Written by VPR

Race statuses help you understand what is happening with a race at a glance. They tell you whether a race is open for entries, still waiting for enough participants, already running, or finished.

Status

Description

Open

Open means the race is available to join.

You can open the race, review the details, and add an eligible pigeon from your Loft. You can also see existing participants and how many slots are still open.

Pending

Pending means the race is still waiting for enough participants.

A race only starts once all required slots are filled. If the start time is reached and the race still does not have enough participants, the pigeons go back to their Lofts. If the race had an entry fee, that fee is returned to the wallet.

Pending does not mean there is a problem with your pigeon or your entry. It only means the race is not full yet.

Live

Live means the race is currently running.

When a race is live, you can follow it on the map and view race information such as weather and average speeds.

Ended

Ended means the race has finished.

Once a race has ended, the live part is over and the result is final. Your pigeon returns to your Loft after the race.

A simple way to read race statuses

You can think of the statuses like this:

  1. Open: you can still join

  2. Pending: waiting for enough participants

  3. Live: the race is happening now

  4. Ended: the race is finished
