This guide walks you through the full process of buying your first pigeon NFT with MetaMask in Google Chrome, purchasing through OpenSea, and then viewing your pigeon in VPR.

Important: Keep your wallet password and recovery details safe. Never share them with anyone. VPR will never ask for them.
Before you start
You will need:
Google Chrome browser
An email address
A debit or credit card
Set up your MetaMask wallet
Step 1: Go to MetaMask
Open metamask.io in your Google Chrome browser and click Get MetaMask. Choose Google Chrome.
Step 2: Install the Chrome extension
In the Chrome Web Store, and click Add to Chrome. Approve the installation.
If MetaMask does not open automatically after installing, click the MetaMask fox icon in your Chrome toolbar.
Step 3: Create a new wallet
When MetaMask opens, choose Create a new wallet.
Note: This guide focuses on new MetaMask users. If you already have an existing MetaMask wallet, you can connect that wallet instead and continue to the next section of this support article.
Step 4: Sign in with Google
In this guide, the wallet is created using a Google account. Click Continue with Google, choose your Google account, sign in, and approve the connection.
If you prefer to use Apple, that is also fine. Just choose Continue with Apple and follow the steps provided by Apple to sign in and approve the connection.
Note: if you don't have a Google or Apple account, we recommend creating a free Google account to use with MetaMask.
Step 5: Create your MetaMask password
Create a password for your MetaMask wallet.
Important: Save this password in a safe place, such as a password manager. If you forget it, you may lose access to your wallet.
Step 6: Finish the setup
MetaMask will confirm that your wallet is ready.
You may also get the option to install the MetaMask mobile app. This is optional, but recommended if you want to access your wallet and NFT pigeon on your mobile later.
Click Open wallet when you are done. The MetaMask side panel will appear in Google Chrome.
You are now ready to buy your first NFT pigeon on OpenSea!
Buy your pigeon on OpenSea
Step 1: Select a NFT pigeon on OpenSea
VPR uses OpenSea to list pigeon NFTs, so all available pigeons can be viewed and purchased there. You can browse the listed pigeons, choose one you like, and check the listing price, including the estimated value in your local currency.
When you view one of the NFT pigeons on OpenSea, you can see details like:
The price, shown in WETH and often also as an estimated amount in your local currency. WETH stands for Wrapped Ether, a crypto token commonly used for NFT purchases on OpenSea.
The Buy now button, which lets you start the purchase if the pigeon is listed for direct sale.
The pigeon traits, which show details about the NFT, such as bloodline, breed type, category, gender, favorite distance, endurance, fitness, and other characteristics.
Collection and token details, such as the collection name, token number, and blockchain network.
Extra marketplace information, such as rarity, offer details, activity, or listing history, depending on the page and listing.
This helps you review both the price and the pigeon’s profile before deciding to buy.
Step 2: Click Buy now
Once you've found a NFT pigeon you'd like to purchase, click Buy now to open the checkout.
Step 3: Connect MetaMask to OpenSea
If you are not yet logged in to OpenSea or have not connected a wallet before, you will first need to connect MetaMask.
Choose MetaMask as your wallet and click Save. MetaMask will then ask you to approve the connection. To continue, click Connect in the MetaMask side panel.
Step 4: Finish your OpenSea account setup
If this is your first time using OpenSea, you will be asked to sign up with your MetaMask wallet before continuing. OpenSea will guide you through the account setup.
Choose a username, accept the terms, and continue to create your OpenSea account. During this process, MetaMask may ask you to approve or sign the request. When prompted, open the MetaMask side panel and click Confirm to continue.
Your username can be anything you like, as long as it has not already been taken by another OpenSea user.
Good to know: the next time you visit OpenSea, you can use your MetaMask wallet to sign in into your OpenSea account and view your NFTs.
Step 5: Choose how you want to pay
Once your OpenSea account has been created, you can continue with the purchase of your NFT pigeon.
In this guide, we use a debit or credit card. Select Debit / Credit Card and click Purchase to continue.
Step 6: Complete the checkout
Card payments are handled by MoonPay, the payment provider used by OpenSea for card purchases. Follow the steps to complete your payment.
If this is the first time using MoonPay, you will usually need to:
Enter your email address to create a new MoonPay account or sign in to an existing one
Enter the verification code sent to your email
Once you are logged in to MoonPay, you will see a summary of your order. Here you can add your debit or credit card details
Review your payment details and confirm the wallet address is correct. Click Pay to confirm.
Step 7: Congrats! You got it!
If you're payment is successful, you will get a confirmation from OpenSea that you are now the proud owner of your new NFT pigeon 🎉
You can also view your NFT pigeon in your OpenSea profile by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner and then clicking your username.
View your pigeon and connect to VPR
Step 1: View your pigeon in MetaMask
You can confirm that your NFT pigeon is in your MetaMask account by opening MetaMask in the Google Chrome browser and going to the NFTs section. Your pigeon should appear there.
Step 2: Log in to VPR
Go to the VPR app and sign in to your account.
Step 3: Connect your wallet
Click Connect Wallet and choose MetaMask. MetaMask will ask you to approve the connection. Click Connect.
Step 4: Open your Loft
After connecting, go to your Loft in VPR. That is where your pigeon should appear in the game.
Troubleshooting
If you do not see your pigeon immediately:
refresh the page
reconnect your wallet
check that the pigeon is visible in MetaMask or OpenSea
make sure you connected the same wallet that received the pigeon
If the pigeon is visible in MetaMask and OpenSea but still not in VPR, contact the VPR support team.
