At launch, your first VPR pigeon will be bought through OpenSea. VPR partners with OpenSea for NFT sales and visibility, while the in-game marketplace is still being built and will open later.
A pigeon in VPR is an NFT, which means it is a digital asset you own in your wallet. Once you buy a pigeon, it is stored in your wallet and used in-game as your playable racing pigeon.
What you need before you buy
Before you buy your first pigeon, make sure you have:
A VPR account
A supported wallet, currently Venly or MetaMask
Funds available for the purchase
The official VPR OpenSea link, once VPR is live
Note: You do not need deep crypto experience to get started, but you do need a wallet to own and use your pigeon
How to buy your first pigeon
Create your VPR account
Sign up for a VPR account so you can access the platform and later use your pigeon in your Loft.Set up your wallet
Use a supported wallet such as Venly or MetaMask. Your wallet is where your pigeon NFT will be stored after purchase.Open the official OpenSea link
Once VPR is live, use the official VPR OpenSea link to browse available pigeons. Do not rely on random links shared by other users.Choose a pigeon
Review the available pigeons and select the one you want to buy.Complete the purchase on OpenSea
Follow the checkout steps on OpenSea. After the transaction is completed, ownership is transferred to your wallet.Go back to VPR
Once your wallet is connected to VPR, your pigeon should appear in your Loft and be ready for racing, breeding, or management.
What happens after you buy
After purchase, your pigeon is stored in your wallet and linked to your VPR account when that wallet is connected. From there, you can manage it in your Loft and use it in the game.
Important things to know
At launch, the in-game VPR marketplace is not yet available. Buying happens through OpenSea first. The in-game marketplace is planned for later.
The shop inside the VPR app is not used for buying pigeons. It is intended for other in-game items later, such as rings or other pigeon-related items. The shop experience is planned to launch later.
Normal gameplay on the VPR platform does not require gas fees, but fees may apply for blockchain actions outside the platform, such as external marketplace activity.
Remember: VPR will never ask for your private key, password, or recovery phrase. You are responsible for access to your wallet.
If your pigeon does not appear
If your purchase is complete but your pigeon does not appear in VPR:
Check that you are connected with the correct wallet
Refresh the app and reconnect your wallet
Wait a short time for the transaction to finalize
