Selling your pigeons

Learn how pigeon sales work in VPR, where listings happen, how pricing works, and what stays with the pigeon.

Written by VPR

VPR pigeons are NFTs, so ownership can move from one player to another. At launch, the initial pigeon sale happens through OpenSea. Later, the in-game VPR marketplace will be used for player-to-player buying and selling inside the platform.

Because pigeons are held in your wallet, they can also be transferred outside VPR, including transfers to another wallet and sales through third-party NFT platforms such as OpenSea.

Selling inside VPR

Once the VPR marketplace is live, you will be able to sell a pigeon directly from your VPR account.

How marketplace selling works

  1. Log in to your VPR account.

  2. Open the marketplace.

  3. Choose the pigeon you want to sell.

  4. Create a listing.

  5. Set your own price.

Your listing will then appear in the marketplace for other players to buy. Prices are shown in USD and converted in real time to POL for settlement.

How buying from another player works

  1. Log in to your VPR account.

  2. Open the marketplace.

  3. Browse the pigeons currently listed for sale.

  4. Select the pigeon you want to buy.

  5. Complete the purchase using your connected wallet.

The marketplace is designed for player-to-player buying and selling of pigeons.

Note: The in-game VPR marketplace is still being built and is not available yet.

Selling or transferring outside VPR

Because pigeons are NFTs stored in your wallet, they are not limited only to the in-game marketplace.

This means you can also:

  • transfer a pigeon to another wallet

  • sell a pigeon through OpenSea

  • use other supported NFT platforms where applicable

These actions happen outside the normal in-game VPR flow and depend on your wallet and the platform you use.

Important: VPR will never ask for your private key, password, or recovery phrase. You are responsible for access to your wallet.

Note: Normal gameplay on the VPR platform does not require gas fees, but gas fees may apply for transfers and external marketplace actions that interact directly with the blockchain.
