Virtual Pigeon Racing is designed so players can trust the game environment. We as developers build and maintain the platform, but we have also put safeguards in place so core systems such as race outcomes, pigeon ownership, and genetics cannot be secretly manipulated.
In short: we run the game, but we cannot quietly rewrite outcomes or change what players own.
What we control
We as developers maintain and operate the platform itself. This includes:
Maintaining the website and race infrastructure
Fixing bugs and improving the game experience
Adding new race types, features, and events
Launching new systems such as breeding mechanics or accessories
Creating and awarding promotional items such as rings or achievements
What we cannot change
Certain parts of the system are protected so they cannot be altered retroactively or behind the scenes.
Race outcomes
Race results cannot be changed after they are recorded. Races generate a tamper-evident event log and can be verified after the race.
Pigeon genetics and core attributes
Once a pigeon is created, its genetics and core attributes are fixed and cannot be modified.
Ownership of pigeons
Pigeons are blockchain-based digital assets (NFTs). Ownership is recorded on the blockchain and cannot be reassigned or edited by the platform.
Race randomness
Randomness used in races is locked before the race begins using cryptographic commitments. This prevents rerolling randomness to influence a winner.
Safeguards built into the system
To protect the ecosystem, VPR includes several structural safeguards:
Cryptographic commitments that seal race inputs and randomness before the race begins
Event log verification that records the race step by step in a tamper-evident chain
Post-race verification that allows independent verification after the race finishes
Blockchain ownership so pigeons are owned through wallets, not a private database
This structure supports Virtual Pigeon Racing as a transparent and competitive racing simulation, where outcomes are determined by the rules of the system rather than hidden intervention.
