Currency used in Virtual Pigeon Racing

Learn how pricing works in Virtual Pigeon Racing, including USD display prices and how payments are processed on Polygon.

Virtual Pigeon Racing runs on the Polygon blockchain. However, on the VPR platform, prices are shown in US dollars (USD) for clarity, and the system converts that amount in real time to the equivalent value on Polygon when you complete a transaction (for example entering a paid race or buying a pigeon).

Prices shown in USD

In VPR, you will typically see USD pricing for things like:

  • Race entry prices

  • Marketplace buy and sell prices for pigeons

This helps players compare costs without needing to think in crypto amounts.

How payments work on Polygon

Even though prices are displayed in USD, transactions are processed on Polygon, which means:

  • Paid actions can require a small amount of POL to complete (for example, paid race entries).

  • Your wallet is used to approve transactions and store your assets.

Example

If a race entry is displayed as $5, VPR will calculate what that equals on Polygon at that moment, show you the transaction in your wallet, and then process the payment on-chain after you approve it.
