Do you need a pigeon to play?

Yes. To actively participate in races in Virtual Pigeon Racing, you need to own at least one pigeon.

Pigeons are the core competitors in the game. Without a pigeon, you cannot enter races or compete against other players.

Why pigeons are required

In VPR, pigeons are unique digital assets (NFTs) that represent the competitors in each race. Each pigeon has its own:

  • Genetics and traits

  • Race history

  • Bloodline and breed type

  • Performance potential

Because every pigeon is unique, you must own a pigeon before you can enter it into races.

How to get a pigeon

Players can acquire pigeons in several ways:

  • Buying pigeons on the marketplace

  • Purchasing pigeons from official releases

  • Breeding new pigeons from existing parent pigeons

The ecosystem began with Generation 1 pigeons, a limited starting population of 60,000 pigeons that form the genetic base for future generations.

Can I still explore the game without a pigeon?

Yes. Even if you do not own a pigeon yet, you can still:

  • Create an account

  • Watch races live

  • Explore the platform and learn how the game works

Once you decide to compete, you will need to own at least one pigeon to enter races.
